Preparing Your Preschooler for Kindergarten

February 28, 2018
  • My 5-year-old will start kindergarten this fall.

I’m not sure who is more nervous – him or this mama bear!

It’s normal to feel anxious and wonder, “Is my child ready?”

As a former kindergarten teacher, I have put together a checklist of ideas to help your child feel prepared for the 1st day of kindergarten.

The checklist isn’t a “must do” list before your child can start his or her first day, simply a list of ideas if you are wondering what things to work on to help prepare your child.

Mama, please do not stress if your child has not mastered each item. Each child learns at his or her own pace and will thrive and continue to grow in kindergarten.

If you would like some help in getting your child ready for kindergarten, our preschool curriculum is a great resource to help you prepare them for that exciting adventure. See how by clicking here for our curriculum benchmarks.

Progressing, even a little each day, you can keep those tummy butterflies from getting the best of you and your little learner. You can feel confident, ready and excited for your preschooler’s next big adventure!

Get your checklist here or by clicking on the picture below.
